There are no images of the original centre-circle fountain, which was removed some time in
the past.

Several years ago, a local resident, Joseph Kaz, presented a plan to install a replica Georgian
fountain on the original site. The plan needed considerable discussion, negotiation with the
Local Authority and fund raising. Once agreed, 
local volunteers dug and laid perfectly
horizontal foundations to ensure that the fountain water would flow evenly. They installed
the fountain in June 2023 and, on 3 July 2023, it was officially turned on. More than 100
local residents attended the celebration.

The working fountain is a much-admired feature

of Thornhill Road Gardens and is a legacy
for future generations.
