AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The Friends of Thornhill Gardens was formed in 2019. Its aim was to encourage local residents to undertake volunteer gardening with the objective of restoring and creating an inclusive garden of beauty, to give pleasure to local residents and visitors, and to improve their physical and metal health.

The Friends, which works in partnership with the London Borough of Islington, meets monthly. It has a constitution, a chairperson, a secretary and a treasurer, and holds an Annual General Meeting, to which all local residents are welcomed.

Since its inception, the Friends of Thornhill Gardens has enabled members of the community to come together and forge new friendships. It has increased the number of new visitors, particularly families with small children who use the upper lawn, now known as “The Patch”.
